I’m having great fun putting it together, so I hope you enjoy it too. If you’ve come across The Soul Food Company though our private catering service or at a cooking class, you’ll know about my passion and philosophy – only the very best fresh foods, locally and sustainably sourced and organically produced, whenever possible.
I’ve loved cooking and inventing recipes for as long as I can remember – it’s my way of being creative! Over recent years, food and health has become my big interest. In 2005 I completed a Diploma in Dietary Counselling with the Irish Institute of Nutrition & Health (www.iinh.net). Afterwards I joined forces (professionally – and romantically!) with Richard Burton, director of the Institute, as their cooking tutor. We are the first in Ireland to combine a cooking school with nutrition college.
Taste of Health’ is the ethos and focus of the classes and courses we offer. Each of the foods and dishes we prepare is designed to address the needs of people with particular dietary requirements, or simply as a really healthy and delicious meal that would suit anyone.
Our mission is to empower people to make smarter informed choices around food. I want to pass on my cooking skills and passion in a fun and practical environment, whether that been in my own demonstration kitchen or sharing with you on this blog. We’ll help you activate and enhance your own cooking skills and rekindle the sheer enjoyment of delicious, healthy food.
In this blog I will share healthy nutritious and delicious recipes. The healing benefits of wholefoods, sourcing tips, foods in season and my passion for good simple food, whilst keeping the tone light and fun. Join me on this wonderful journey filled with healing, nourishing, inspiring delicious recipes and food tips.
