Maggie LynchI’m Maggie Lynch and I grew up on a farm in the Lakeland district of Co. Fermanagh. I have been cooking for as long as I remember. It all started during the long school holidays, to escape farm chores and creepy crawlies! I did a deal with my mum to stay in the house and help cook…. and I’ve never really left the kitchen since!

After my chef training I headed to Oz. Ten years later I had some of Sydney’s finest restaurants and cafes on my CV, but I had also travelled the globe exploring novel foods, flavours and aromas.

My passion for fresh food, locally and sustainability sourced and organically produced, has grown with me on my culinary journey. In 2000 I started my own private catering business in Dublin. The Soul Food Company was born and continues successfully to this day with an expanding base of happy clients.

In 2005 I broadened my foodie passion by completing a Diploma in Dietary Counselling with the Irish Institute of Nutrition & Health [www.iinh.net] After the course I joined forces with Richard Burton, director of the Institute. Taste Health! Ireland first cookery school with wellness topping the menu was born soon afterwards.

Our Taste Health! classes and courses are designed  to help you rediscover and enjoy vibrant health. The foods and dishes we prepare are designed to suit people with particular dietary requirements, but can be truly enjoyed be anyone. Our mission is to empower people to enhance and safeguard their health by making smarter informed choices around food.

I love passing on my cooking skills and passion in a fun and practical environment. My aim is to help activate and enhance your cooking skills and to rekindle the sheer enjoyment of planning, preparing and eating delicious, healthy food – and feeling the benefits!

Little did I know that my journey and passion for the work I do, would lead me to the most wonderful gift of all, the gift of LOVE. Richard is now my husband..
